About the project
This directory exists for a simple reason: more and more people and companies in Poland want to know where their data really goes and what can replace the services of US tech giants - and there was no reliable, Polish-language map of such alternatives. Existing directories (european-alternatives.eu, goeuropean.org) are available only in English and German, and Polish tools are under-represented in them.
We gather 230 tools in 43 categories in one place: from email and cloud storage, through artificial intelligence, to invoicing systems ready for KSeF (Poland's national e-invoicing system). Every entry shows the country of origin, pricing model, and whether the tool is open source and can be self-hosted. The English version mirrors the Polish directory - including the Polish tools, which are often unknown abroad.
How we qualify tools
The directory lists services from companies headquartered in Europe (EU, EEA, Switzerland, United Kingdom) and mature open-source projects that can run on European infrastructure. Where ownership is complex (e.g. a non-European owner), we say so explicitly in a note next to the tool - we believe transparency matters more than a perfectly clean list.
How we make money
Some links are affiliate links - if you click and buy a service, we earn a commission. This affects neither the price you pay nor which tools we show and in what order. We also display ads and offer clearly labelled featured listings and sponsorships (see Advertise). Sponsored listings never masquerade as editorial recommendations. You can also support the project directly.
Found an error? Missing a tool?
The directory grows through submissions. If you know a European tool that is missing, or see outdated information - submit it here or write to kontakt@eualternatywy.pl.
